The beginning of the Chamber’s activity is connected with the establishing general assembly, which was held on 22 March 1996, in Prešov, Eastern Slovakia.
The legislative frame for the establishment and activity of the Chamber was created by the Act of the National Council of SR No. 216/1995 Coll. on the Chamber of Surveyors and Cartographers, which was later replaced by the Act No. 487/2021 Coll. on the Chamber of Surveyors and Cartographers. Mainly the Act No. 487/2021 Coll. together with the actual internal rules of the Chamber, created a modern organisation, with the legislation of the European Union fully compatible legislative environment, in which the Chamber develops and performs its activities.
The publication ‘The Chamber of Surveyors and Cartographers in Slovakia in Years 1996 – 2026‘ (in Slovak and English) documents the evolution of the Chamber from its beginning up to the present day. This publication follows the those published on the occasion of the 10th and 20th anniversaries of the Chamber. Generous image content brings the reader information about the personalities and documents of the Chamber, and also moments from the Chamber’s activities. The publication contains actual legislative documents and internal rules of the Chamber, as well as information about the activities of the Chamber’s departments. Due to limited volume and the character of the publication, this could not be complete documentary work, but has the ambition to bring a closer look at the milestones, documents and activities from the life of the Chamber to the reader.
On the occasion of their 30th Anniversary, the Chamber organised a Gala Evening for its members and invited guests on 2 December 2025. Please enjoy this photo album from this momentous occasion. Here are few selected pictures by way of a preview.
