Why You Should Join the CLGE Young Surveyors’ Contest 2026? – meet CLGE Young Surveyors’ Contest Ambassador Randa Natraš
Following our previous highlights of the CLGE Young Surveyors’ Contest 2026, it’s worth hearing directly from past participants about what makes this experience so valuable.
Let’s now present you the story of the ambitious Randa Natraš, researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and PhD graduate from the Technical University of Munich.
In her award-winning paper, she explores the use of machine learning to model and forecast ionospheric behaviour, including the impact of space weather. As the ionosphere significantly affects GNSS signal propagation – causing delays, distortions, and potential signal loss – her approach aims to improve positioning accuracy by providing more reliable predictions together with uncertainty estimation.
Randa is a wonderful example of a successful young woman in the geodetic field.
As emphasised before, this is more than just a competition – it is an opportunity to share your work, connect with the community, and grow professionally.
The clock is ticking to enter this year’s Contest, so hurry up!
