Saariselkä Declaration

On Thursday, 25th November, our theme of the Year 2021 culminated with the VII CLGE Conference of the European Surveyor: “Women in Surveying”, held in Saariselkä (FI).
The CLGE Working Group led Blaženka Mičević (HR) prepared a very nice international Conference with a multitude of amazing presentations, testimonies and talks. The whole event was aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #5: “Gender Equality”. As usual, the conclusions of the Conference were tabled to our General Assembly gathered in the days immediately after the event.
On Saturday 27th November, the GA adopted the Saariselkä Declaration that can be read here. Our Conference and General Assembly went beyond mere general principles by assigning clear objectives and tangible recommendations for those who will implement the new policies. We are pleased to announce that CLGE has gone a step further by creating a new DEI Department within our administration where we will continue our focus on Gender Equality in the broader context of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
