Vasile Chiriac

It is with a deep sadness that we have been informed that our colleague and friend Vasile Chiriac, CLGE Delegate for Moldova passed away on 15 June 2021.

Vasile was our Secretary General for four years and subsequently became our Special Delegate for Protocol Matters. We remember the many photos he took during our General Assemblies, always with a smile. Still recovering from a recent hospital stay, Vasile helped the team of our recent General Assembly in Athens to prepare the programme. With his characteristic humility and friendliness, he asked us to proofread it well, because he was “not feeling too well”. Despite his condition, he participated in the General Assembly online, proudly answering the roll call for Moldova, always aware of his duty. Vasile was an example to us all.

Rest in peace, dear Friend.

For the CLGE Executive Board and General Assembly

Vladimir Krupa, CLGE President

Since this sad news was originally posted we can announce that the CLGE General Assembly bestowed posthumous Honorary Membership of CLGE on Vasile Chiriac at our meeting in Saariselkä (FI) on 26 to 27th November 2021.
