Important announcement from the ‘Finnish Association of Geodetic and Land Surveyors’ (MIL ry)

Ville Paatsola, President of MIL ry

The Finnish geodetic surveying profession underwent major associational reforms at the turn of 2023.

The merger of the ‘Finnish Association of Land Surveyors’ (MAKLI) and the ‘Finnish Association of Geodetic and Land Surveyors’ (MIL) created an association that will serve the entire Finnish surveying profession. A lot of work went into the merger, but hard work will pay off. The merger will make administration more efficient, reduce expenses, eliminate overlap in functions, and create a stronger and more influential association that will be able to respond more effectively to changes in our sector and operating environment. The new organisation continues under the name the ‘Finnish Association of Geodetic and Land Surveyors’ (MIL ry).

Ville Paatsola was elected as the first president of the new, united organisation after Mikael Still stepped down as president of MIL ry. Ville Paatsola and Aleksi Toivonen will be the CLGE Delegates for Finland. Ville said ‘We also hope for successful cooperation with our European colleagues in the future!‘ and to whom he sends his very best wishes.
