CLGE @ the 36th International Geodetic Student Meeting

This week the 36th International Geodetic Student Meeting (IGSM) took place in Sofia, Bulgaria.

We are delighted that the event was held under the auspices of CLGE. This year the IGSM united 160 participants from three different continents, who took part in various discussions and presentations, practical workshops, and social activities.

Our Vice President Jānis Klīve, and our Young Surveyor Representatives – Marineli Dancheva and Hamidreza Ostadabbas – were official guests at the event.

During the opening ceremony, Jānis Klīve presented CLGE and our Young Surveyors’ Contest 2024 edition.

On the second day of the event Marineli Dancheva and Hamidreza Ostadabbas were invited to a Panel Discussion, focused on education, professional development, and realisation of the young surveyors. The discussion was truly inspiring and engaged many students to participate too.

Marinelli said ‘Witnessing how young surveyors are keen to break down barriers, unite and appreciate each other’s cultures was great. Many of them seemed keen to pursue development in their career paths and willing to actively learn.’

The team was delighted to receive a ‘Certificate of Appreciation‘ from the organisers which recognises the support of CLGE.

Congratulations to the young surveyors who organised the event and to those taking active part in it. We wish you to stay inspired, active and successfully pursue your dream career with our field.
