We are delighted to announce that not one, but two Serbian Surveying Associations are seeking membership of CLGE.
For many years, Serbia has been an Observing Member. We are very pleased to hear that now, two Surveying associations – the Serbian Union of Surveyors and the Association of Geodetic Organizations of Serbia – have decided to join forces.
In parallel, they are making a Principal Membership application. Although they are not yet a Member, they are leading by example and demonstrating best practice by signing a Memorandum of Understanding that you can please read here.
Dr. Mladen Šoškić, dipl. inž. geod. Vasilije Đurić, dipl. inž. geod, the respective Presidents of the Serbian Union of Surveyors and the Association of Geodetic Organizations of Serbia, are pictured above signing the MoU today.
The application has already been verified by the CLGE Bureau and we expect this will be approved during our next Executive Board meeting which will take place in Madrid (ES) on 21 March 2024.
At our upcoming General Assembly in Cavtat (HR) on 19 April 2024, the two candidates should become full CLGE Principal Members, if their application is confirmed as expected. At the same meeting, Institutional Membership status will be granted to the Serbian National Mapping and Cadastral Authority (NMCA), the Republički geodetski zavod (RGZ) or Republic Geodetic Authority.
