We have the pleasure to inform you that the Council of European Geodetic Surveyors (CLGE), Bergen University College and NJKF (The Norwegian Association of Surveyors) are organising a CLGE Seminar under the title: The Boundary

The seminar will take place in the Norwegian City of Bergen, well known as the capital of the Fjords, on the 29 and 30 April 2009. The seminar will be in English language. The seminar will concentrate on the importance of property information with special focus on the boundary. One of our main targets will be to use this meeting as an opportunity to open indepth discussions in special between European universities. Boundaries and the effects of boundary surveys are defined in different ways all over Europe, and it is important to get knowledge about how the countries in Europe solve the challenges regarding property boundaries. These are important issues for both the society and the landowners. Hence, the seminar will be of interest for everyone working with property boundary issues.

The seminar will address the following major issues:

• Property and the Boundary. Keynote addresses.

• European platform – importance of property information

• The boundary and the effects of cadastral surveying.
How is the property boundary defined? Access to information? How are boundary disputes solved? What is the function of the coordinates? Different solutions in Europe
